Thobi Founding & Developing
Thobi was founded in 2022 as Thobi Artist Management UG by Bianca Berndt-Patschank and Thomas Neuwerth, with its registered office in Niedernhausen. Its aim is to establish an artist management model based on Anglo-American standards—one that goes far beyond the agencies commonly found in the German-speaking market, which often operate primarily as artist booking services (see “Mission Statement” for further details). In 2023, Pascal Illi joined as a third partner.
As of September 2024, Bianca Berndt-Patschank and Pascal Illi stepped down as shareholders of Thobi. In their place, Jo Quirin and Cloud26 GmbH (Switzerland) joined the company as new shareholders alongside Thomas Neuwerth. Effective 1 October 2024, Jo Quirin and Patric Scott were appointed Co-Managing Directors alongside Thomas Neuwerth. The company’s registered office was relocated to Hamburg, and its scope of business was expanded. The company now operates under the name “Thobi Artist Management & Licensing Agency.”
At the beginning of 2026, a branch office was established in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Thobi Mission Statement
The Artist Management Agency
Thobi Artist Management is not a conventional booking agency. True to our name, we operate as a full-service management company for artists, with a focus on musical theatre entertainment - musicals and operetta in particular. Securing roles in theatre productions is only one aspect of what we do; artist management goes far beyond that.
Performers should be able to focus on what they want to do - what they have trained for and what they are truly passionate about: the creative, the artistic. We take care of everything else, operating as a one-stop shop that covers all aspects of a career on stage.
But we don’t just work for our artists - we work with them. Developing a long-term career strategy is just as much a part of our approach as providing individual guidance when it comes to choosing roles.
Drawing on our wide-ranging and long-standing experience in the theatre sector, we offer our Thobi Artists the highest standard of support. Our expertise in cultural management and legal matters, combined with first-hand stage experience, creates a uniquely well-rounded approach.
Artist management goes far beyond administrative support or simply handling audition applications. We offer a comprehensive and highly personalised service, including artist coaching, contract negotiations, and advice on all aspects of future engagements, as well as long-term career development in the performing arts. We collaborate closely with our clients - supporting them in the short term with auditions and engagements, and in the long term by shaping their individual career paths. Above all, we don’t keep office hours like a bureaucratic institution - we’re there for our artists like a family, whenever they need us.
We primarily represent artists in Germany and Austria, as well as across the EU. Since early 2026, we have also been active in Switzerland.
The Licensing Agency
With effect from 1 October 2024, Thobi expanded its scope and brand to include a licensing agency alongside its artist management activities. Its objective is to represent and license stage works (“grand rights”) within the field of musical theatre. Initially, the focus is on works by the company’s shareholders, including pieces written by Thomas Neuwerth, Patric Scott, and Jo Quirin. With projects already involving international collaborators from the Anglo-American market, as well as strong ties to the musical theatre industry in the Far East, Thobi is internationally positioned from the outset - an outlook that will continue to grow in the years ahead.
Furthermore, we are happy to support theatres that are searching for new musicals with both advice and practical assistance, helping them find suitable works that have not yet been performed (at least within the German-speaking market). We are also keen to collaborate with the renowned German theatrical publishing houses, as we do not see ourselves as competitors, but rather as a meaningful complement to their work.

The Licensing Agency
